ACHEMA 2022 was once again all about innovative technology for the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries from August 22-26, 2022 in Frankfurt, Germany. Check out our video to find out which highlights X-Visual Technologies presented at ACHEMA 2022.

PlantEngineer Features 2023

Highlights 2023 of the intuitive P&ID software PlantEngineer include Colored Media, function list ex/import (bidirectional) with filter function and Virtual Reality (VR) layout planning.

P&ID meets Virtual Reality

With the PlantEngineer software, you create a 2D plant layout in Microsoft Visio based on the P&ID and directly generate a walk-through VR plant model without any 3D knowledge. By visualizing the layout planning in 3D, customers and project participants can be involved in the early stages of engineering and variants can be discussed. Conflicts identified at an early stage help to avoid planning errors.

Integration of P&IDs and PLT

Our partner Rösberg Engineering showed, among other things, the integration of PlantEngineer in their PLT system ProDOK. The integration of process engineering planning and process control technology (PCT) facilitates the planning and change management of the plant. This enables consistent documentation. Differences and changes in the systems are detected at an early stage and costly planning errors are avoided.

Digital Lab & Modular Connected Production & Digital Security

ACHEMA is the world’s leading exhibition for process technology. In addition to 2211 exhibitors from 51 countries, more than 70,000 participants from 127 nations attended this year’s ACHEMA.

Three focus topics determined the trends at ACHEMA 2022. At the “Digital Lab” booths, networked laboratories of tomorrow could be experienced. The theme “Modular and Connected Production” showed innovations for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries to design their complex plants with the greatest possible flexibility and to fully network them. The topic “Product and Process Security” highlighted issues of digital security, which is becoming increasingly important in times of Industry 4.0 and networked production. Digital security bridged the gap to the new “Digital Hub” topic area to provide digital experts with a platform for exchange.

The integrated congress program focused primarily on hydrogen issues, as well as presentations on sustainability, the circular economy and digitalization with exhibitors and visitors. “The dovetailing of congress and exhibition is a complete success: with more than 20,000 listeners, the number of visitors is significantly higher than at the last ACHEMA in 2018, which had more participants overall. And the feedback from congress visitors is also positive,” says Dr. Andreas Förster, Managing Director of Dechema. A concept that will definitely be expanded at ACHEMA in two years’ time.
