2026 Conference on Energy Research in Industry and Commerce
Conference on Energy Research in Industry and Commerce
On March 17 and 18, 2026, X-Visual Technologies GmbH attended the Congress on Energy Research in Industry and Commerce at the Tagungswerk Berlin. The event, which took place as part of the EE4InG2 project funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, offered a concise overview of where energy research stands today, which approaches are already being successfully implemented in practice, and where these topics are headed. The importance of collaboration between industry, research, and politics became particularly clear over the course of the two days.
The program was clearly structured and covered topics ranging from energy research to energy efficiency and climate-neutral heating, all the way to digitalization and concrete industrial applications. We found the presentation of the world’s first MTP-based modular production line by Dr. Sebastian Härtner of Merck KGaA in Darmstadt particularly exciting.
His work is based on 10 years of ENPRO research.
The ENPRO initiative has laid important foundations for modular, flexible, and energy-efficient production processes, including concepts and standards. The follow-up project REUNION is now bringing these concepts into industrial application with concrete demonstrators.
X-Visual Technologies GmbH has been involved as a research partner since the start of the ENPRO initiative and presented at the congress together with its partners Norbert Kockmann (Technical University of Dortmund), Sebastian Härtner (Merck KGaA, Darmstadt), Alexander Fay (Ruhr University Bochum), Kathrin Rübberdt (DECHEMA Science and Industry), and Sascha Lamm (Research Assistant, Technical University of Dortmund) at the congress.
A big thank you goes out to all REUNION partners as well as to the organizers, IREES GmbH and Energieforschung, for the excellent content and the many engaging discussions. It was a real highlight for us to be part of this event.
