The DEXPI (Data Exchange in Process Industry) hackathon in February was a great success. From 19 to 21 February 2018, the software vendors met for the seventh time – this time at the host eVision, in the beautiful city of The Hague, near Amsterdam. X-Visual was also involved to work together with the software manufacturers on the import & export functionality for the shared data exchange between the CAE software. On the 3 days the DEXPI members have been improving the export of the P&ID with data, graphics and the corresponding catalog of shapes. To compensate for the intense work load, The Hague offered a fantastic backdrop for a walk past the government district. One again, the hackathon has been a good opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss on the topic of data exchange in the process industry.

DEXPI – Data Exchange in the Process Industry

The objective of the DEXPI initative is to develop and promote a general data exchange standard for the process industry, covering all phases of the lifecycle of a (petro-)chemical plant, ranging from specification of functional requirements to assets in operation. Currently, the focus of the DEXPI initiative is the exchange of Piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs). Source: DEXPI
