On July 1, 2025, we attended the summer party of the buildingSMART regional group Berlin at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences (HTW Berlin). In a relaxed summer atmosphere, representatives from research, planning, and practice came together to exchange ideas on current developments in Building Information Modeling (BIM).

In her presentation, Prof. Silvia de Lima from HTW Berlin provided exciting insights into two of our joint MR4B research projects:

• LiDAR2BIM – a project for the automated creation of BIM models based on laser scanning technology.
• KEPLER – an interdisciplinary project that explores the intelligent linking of building models with technical processes.

The presentation was accompanied by an exhibition featuring practical examples and visualizations from the BIM environment. The event provided an ideal setting for informal exchange and new impetus for digital transformation in the construction and process industries.
